Using SimpleViewer:

The album starts with a headline and an index in the left part of the screen and shows the first image from the index. Under the index a) you will see the caption for photo shown and b) a set of numbers, i.e. 1/9 telling that the first of nine pictures is displayed to the right.

If there are more than 9 pictures in an album a "fat" arrowhead under the index is shown. If clicked the next group with thumbnails is shown.

You can, of cause, get the picture you want by clicking a thumbnail thereby avoiding browsing the entire collection.

Browsing the album: If pointing with a mouse at the right and left edges of a picture displayed, black arrowheads become visible. However, it's not necessary clicking on the arrowheads. Just click somewhere to the right (and left if not the first picture) and the next one comes up.
